Description
Greensleeves Care | Not-for-Profit | Hybrid - London Head Office (with travel to homes)

If you’re a procurement leader who wants your work to mean something more, this is an opportunity to shape how a values-led care organisation spends every pound and directly improve the lives of our residents across the UK.

At Greensleeves Care, we don’t answer to shareholders. We reinvest in our homes, our people, and the quality of care we provide. That means every procurement decision you make has a real, visible impact, from the food on residents’ plates to the environments they live in.

The role

We’re looking for a commercially sharp, purpose-driven Head of Procurement to lead and modernise procurement across the organisation.

You’ll set the direction, build the strategy, and bring consistency and control to how we buy goods, services and works, ensuring value for money while supporting our commitment to sustainability and high-quality care.

This is a hands-on leadership role with real influence. You’ll work closely with Finance, Operations, Property and frontline teams, helping to balance commercial performance with the needs of residents and colleagues on the ground.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Developing and delivering a clear, organisation-wide procurement strategy
  • Driving value, efficiency and smarter supplier partnerships
  • Embedding governance, compliance and best practice across all procurement activity
  • Leading on sustainability and supporting our net zero ambitions
  • Managing risk across commercial, operational and contractual areas
  • Supporting new care home developments with timely, cost-effective procurement
  • Improving existing supplier arrangements across key categories (including energy, food and medical supplies)
  • Providing expert commercial advice to senior stakeholders

What We’re Looking For

You’ll bring strong procurement leadership experience, ideally across complex or multi-site organisations. Just as important is how you approach the role.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Thinks strategically, but isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves
  • Can influence at senior level and bring people with them
  • Balances commercial rigor with empathy for a care environment
  • Is confident navigating complexity and making sound, independent decisions
  • Cares about sustainability, ethics and long-term value, not just cost

Why Greensleeves Care?

We’re a not-for-profit care provider with a clear mission: to deliver the best possible care for older people. That shapes everything we do, including procurement.

  • Here, success isn’t just measured in savings. It’s about:
  • Supporting high-quality, person-centered care
  • Making responsible, sustainable choices
  • Building partnerships that align with our values
  • Using resources wisely to benefit residents and staff

What You Can Expect

  • A role with genuine purpose and influence
  • A collaborative, values-driven culture
  • The chance to build and shape procurement at a strategic level
  • Flexible, hybrid working with a Head Office base and travel to homes

If you’re ready to lead procurement in an organisation where outcomes matter as much as numbers, we’d like to hear from you.
