What to expect
The Head of Retail Communications is a senior member of the Commercial operations team, responsible for the development and delivery of functional strategies, role always modelling the Post Office behaviours and demonstrating a Partner first mindset.
The Head of Retail Communications will lead the channel communications team owning the end to end delivery of all communications for the network. They will drive a culture of inclusion, continuous improvement, and high performance in the teams they lead, delivering the end to end communication plan for all operators, field team and branches to ensure all communications are delivered with a consistent tone of voice aligned to the Post Office strategic Plan and enable all teams to drive decision-making across the Business, Customers and Partners.

What you’ll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will need to have demonstrable experience leading and developing a Communications function within Retail: In addition you will possess:
• Extensive experience in setting up new processes and platforms to deliver communication strategies in a large corporate business
• Substantial experience convening multiple stakeholders and through successful relationships, leading key cross-functional projects to drive results across the organisation
• Experience in leading and driving change aligned to functional and business strategies
• Experience in B2B franchise management would be of interest
• An understanding of data privacy laws, governance, risk, and budget management
• Advanced influencing and communication skills; using a range of techniques to deliver messages effectively make an impact and drive a successful outcome
• Ability to maintain strong and influential relationships with senior stakeholders and leaders to build support for business plans
• Strong commercial business acumen and ability to make data-driven business decisions
• A track record of actively promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion within all areas of responsibility and in particularly in commercial operations function
