We now have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and proactive Health and Safety Manager (Midlands) to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about health and safety, confident in engaging senior stakeholders, and motivated by the opportunity to shape and drive a positive safety culture across a large and complex regional portfolio.

About the Role

As the Regional Health and Safety Manager (Midlands), you will be responsible for leading health and safety engagement and performance across the Midlands region. Reporting to the National Health and Safety Lead (Delivery), you will work closely with the Regional Managing Director and Senior Leadership Team to implement the NHSPS Health and Safety Management System, ensuring accountabilities and responsibilities are clearly understood and embedded across all functions.

You will lead the development and delivery of the annual regional health and safety improvement plan, support the achievement of national KPIs, and contribute to the continual development of a strong, positive health and safety culture.

Who You Are

You are an experienced health and safety professional with strong stakeholder management skills and the confidence to influence at a senior level. You combine technical expertise with a practical, solutions‑focused approach and are passionate about driving behavioural safety and continuous improvement. You are highly organised, collaborative, and comfortable working across multiple sites and teams. A full, current driving licence is essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the NHSPS Health and Safety Management System is consistently implemented across the Midlands region.
  • Contribute to the NHSPS Annual Health and Safety Plan and support delivery against national KPIs.
  • Work with the Regional Managing Director and Senior Leadership Team to embed and drive the annual Regional Health and Safety Plan.
  • Prepare regional health and safety reports for the Regional Senior Leadership Team and Regional Health and Safety Forum.
  • Provide professional advice on health and safety matters, including contractor management, permit to work, COSHH and CDM, in line with national standards.
  • Collaborate with National Health and Safety Leads for Hard and Soft FM to ensure a consistent approach to central processes.
  • Champion and drive a positive behavioural safety culture, leading campaigns and initiatives to increase awareness and ownership.
  • Ensure all incidents are reported, investigated within agreed timeframes, and that responsible managers are supported and trained where required.
  • Where you'll be

    This is a hybrid role with flexible working, covering the Midlands region, with travel as required by the job profile, this may on occasions be national. The salary on offer is from £53,000 per annum, plus a £3,000 car allowance and eligibility for our annual 10% bonus. This is a 12‑month fixed‑term contract,
