Kings has established itself as a premier centre for minimally invasive heart valve surgery, offering patients the full spectrum of limited-access surgical approaches. The programme encompasses minimally invasive mitral valve repair and replacement via right mini-thoracotomy, minimally invasive tricuspid valve surgery, mini-sternotomy aortic valve replacement, and endoscopic aortic valve replacement.
The unit's minimally invasive valve programme is supported by a dedicated team of three subspecialty consultants with extensive experience in these technically demanding procedures, consistently achieving results that compare favourably with the best internationally published outcomes. Patients benefit from reduced surgical trauma, shorter intensive care and hospital stays, faster return to normal activity, and improved cosmetic outcomes compared with conventional open surgery.
- Minimally Invasive Mitral Valve Surgery — including repair and replacement
- Minimally Invasive Tricuspid Valve Surgery — including repair techniques via a minimally invasive approach
- Minimally Invasive Aortic Valve Surgery — including mini-sternotomy AVR and endoscopic AVR
