Nuclear Medicine Technologist

East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust (EKHUFT) is accepting applications for the position of Nuclear Medicine Technologist within the Nuclear Medicine division.

Our facilities operate three gamma cameras, including two GE 870-DR SPECT/CT systems, two DEXA scanners and a fully equipped Radiopharmacy unit.

You will be a proactive technologist or radiographer, or hold a relevant science degree and be looking to help develop and improve the services that we provide to our users.

Candidates with less experience but holding a relevant science degree are encouraged to apply as training and support will be available to help you begin a career in Nuclear Medicine. This would include enrolment onto the Post Graduate Diploma in Nuclear Medicine

You will be required to rotate between all of our sites, including Kent & Canterbury Hospital in Canterbury, William Harvey Hospital in Ashford and Buckland Hospital in Dover.

Clinical Skills and Experience

Essential

• Evidence of working with the public in a clinical or customer service setting
• Ability to work independently, with appropriate clinical and scientific support
• Able to prioritise and manage own work and manage competing priorities

Desirable

• Clinical or Technical experience relevant to Nuclear Medicine or Medical Imaging
• Venepuncture and Clinical Care

Qualifications and training

Essential

• Relevant scientific degree (BSc)
• High level of numeracy and literacy

Desirable

• Recognised Specialist Nuclear Medicine qualification

Governance

Essential

• Understanding importance of professional standards and competencies
• Follow relevant legislation, national standards, professional and other guidelines including: IRR, IR(ME)R, MARS (ARSAC) EA guidelines, MHRA & GMP
• Confidentiality and Data Protection

Personal/professional attributes

Essential

• Excellent time management, communication, problem solving and lateral thinking skills

Other requirements

Essential

• Regular and reliable participation in all shifts
• Able to attend for work on any of the EKHUFT sites as required

Desirable

• A valid Driving License
• Ability to travel in a timely and effective manner
