This is a 12 month secondment opportunity to enhance professional leadership skills by providing clinical direction, expertise and development to Occupational Therapy Older Adult Community provision. In line with the NHS 10 year plan, this key role with support strengthening the Occupational Therapy community clinical offer towards preventative care.
This role will facilitate your professional development and equip you with a range of leadership skills. You will be supported by regular clinical and managerial supervision, ongoing CPD opportunities and encouraged to contribute to the wider Older Adult AHP service.
1. Provide professional and clinical leadership and co-ordinate the Older Adult community Occupational Therapy Team within their clinical day-to-day activity.
2. Ensure that the Older Adult community Occupational Therapy Team understands and works to required performance expectations and to monitor and support compliance as required.

4. To provide regular performance reports to the Service Manager and AHP Lead for Older Adult Mental Health Division identifying any exceptions and remedial plans as necessary.
5. Ensure the Older Adults community Occupational Therapy team contributes as required to the delivery of performance development and quality and safety directives.
6. Ensure that the OT team members receive appropriate professional and clinical supervision in line with the Trusts Supervision Policy.
7. Ensure that the activity of the OT Team supports efficient use of resources and is consistent with the Teams allocated budget, supporting the Service Manager in ensuring the overall service budget is managed effectively.
8. Develop and sustain relationships with others that create a sound base for communication, delivery of services and partnership working as required.
9. Work with the Service Manager and others to recruit and retain staff within the Team as required.
Joining a friendly and welcoming community MDT team based in heart of Walsall, the OA Community Mental Health team is dedicated to ongoing development of the provision of core Occupational Therapy, ensuring people recieve the right care at the right time by the right person. This post will work closely with team leads, and will recieve support from wider professional and divisional lead.
