About The Role
As a People Business Partner within our wealth management business, you will work closely with senior leaders and managers to align people strategy with business objectives in a highly regulated, client‑focused environment.
Acting as a trusted advisor, coach, and challenger, you will support leaders across the full employee lifecycle, driving organisational performance, capability, and engagement.
The role blends strategic partnering with hands‑on delivery, ensuring people practices support growth, operational excellence, and a strong risk and compliance culture. You will use data, insight, and sound employment law knowledge to enable effective decision‑making and a consistent, high‑quality employee experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic People Partnering: Act as a trusted advisor to leaders, influencing, coaching and challenging them on their approach ensuring a fair and equitable employee experience is at the heart of every decision.
Stakeholder Management and Collaboration: Work closely with the wider people and culture team to deliver on joined up people solutions. Build strong relationships across the business acting as a commercially literate, credible and pragmatic partner.
Employee Relations & Case Management: Lead and manage complex employee relations cases, including (but not limited to) performance management, disciplinaries, grievances, absences, and capability. In addition you will build manager capability through coaching and guidance, enabling confident and timely people management.
Change and Organisational Development: Support leaders through organisational change including, restructures and TUPE as well as business transformation initiatives where required.
Talent, Performance and Capability: Support and drive talent management activities including succession planning, identifying top talent, and capability development. Advise and help drive performance frameworks, objective setting, and performance reviews
Workforce Planning and Resourcing: Partner with leaders to proactively plan workforce requirements aligned to business strategy, growth plans, and capability needs. Use data and insight to identify capacity gaps and skills requirements, shaping effective resourcing and succession approaches. Work closely with the recruitment team to deliver timely, high‑quality hiring outcomes, while supporting leaders to build well‑structured, sustainable teams through effective role design and onboarding.
Engagement, Culture and Wellbeing: Partner with leaders to embed a positive, inclusive and high‑performance culture across the business. Use engagement data and feedback to identify themes, shape pragmatic actions, and support leaders to improve employee engagement and experience. Act as a role model and advocate for wellbeing, advising leaders on proactive wellbeing practices, sustainable performance, and psychologically safe ways of working, signposting to central wellbeing initiatives and resources where appropriate.
About You
Essential:
Specialist Skills, Qualifications and Experience:
Proven experience working in a People Business Partner role supporting leaders within a financial services industry
Demonstratable experience managing a range of complex employee relations issues from start to finish
Sound working knowledge of employment law
Experience working within a fast paced changing environment
Experience supporting on organisational change, restructures and transformational people projects
Demonstrated ability to balance commercial priorities with fair and employee‑centred decision‑making
Confident influencer with strong coaching and stakeholder management skills.
Desirable:
CIPD level 5 or equivalent experience
Experience partnering with senior leadership
Experience working within a platform business
