We are hiring a Portfolio Accountant to help build our Group Financial Reporting function at Modaxo Global. This is a newly created role, born from growth, and it sits right at the consolidation point of a worldwide collective.

ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Portfolio Controller (UK) and working alongside the wider Global team, you will help oversee worldwide operations in a flexible, virtual first environment. You will maintain accurate financial records for the parent company, assist in preparing two sets of consolidated financial statements, deliver audit requirements, and support group reporting to the ultimate parent company.
This role calls for meticulous attention to detail and a strong grasp of accounting principles, with revenue recognition and audit experience at its core.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
Closing the books
- Maintain general ledger accounts, calculate debt entries, accruals and prepayments, and prepare and post journal entries for the parent company.
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations.
- Provide cash to subsidiaries as and when requested.
- Calculate transfer pricing and management fee adjustments and coordinate their posting.
Group reporting, financial statements and audit
- Support monthly, quarterly and annual reporting and consolidation processes, with a focus on accurate and timely reporting as part of a publicly listed group.
- Help prepare annual consolidated financial statements in line with relevant accounting standards.
- Prepare audit schedules and work directly with external auditors.
- Combine quarterly group reporting deliverables from other portfolios to support the consolidation process.
- Prepare ad hoc external statutory reporting, including bank reporting.
Technical support
Act as an escalation point for technical IFRS accounting queries arising globally.
Support technical reviews and guidance where required, including revenue recognition checklists.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
You are a recently qualified accountant, ideally trained in practice (Big 4 or a top ten firm) and possibly with experience in a head office consolidation role.
- Strong audit experience is essential.
- Excellent technical accounting skills, including acquisition accounting and revenue recognition. We complete multiple acquisitions each year, so this exposure is genuine and repeated.
- A strong understanding of IFRS.
- Strong Excel skills. Familiarity with consolidation and reconciliation tools is an advantage.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- The ability to thrive against demanding deadlines and to work both independently and as part of a team.

PRACTICAL DETAILS
