The Quality Governance Matron is a senior leader within the Governance Support Unit, working collaboratively across all disciplines to drive the Trust's Clinical Governance agenda. The role provides strategic oversight to the Falls, Frailty and Dementia Specialist Teams, supporting high standards of safety, quality and patient experience.
The post holder will lead the clinical governance and public involvement agenda across two to three divisions, strengthening clinical practice, reducing risk and promoting cross-divisional learning. They will also lead the divisional delivery of the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework, ensuring full compliance with the Trust's Patient Safety Incident Response Plan.
The Matron will provide expert oversight of clinical incidents, complaints, learning from deaths and wider quality improvement activity, guiding Quality Governance Facilitators to support divisions in delivering robust governance and improved care.
They will champion a positive learning culture, ensuring changes are embedded to enhance patient safety and outcomes. Working with Divisional Governance Leads, they will establish strong assurance processes aligned to PSIRF, shared governance, CQC requirements and ICB quality standards.
The post holder will ensure effective audit processes, collaborate closely with Executive and divisional leadership, and contribute to setting the strategic direction of the Governance Support Unit.
