There is an exciting opportunity to join the Quality Assurance Team in the Blood, Inflammation & Cancer Directorate.
We have a vacancy for a Quality Manager in Oncology Services who will oversee Plymouth Oncology Centre's ISO 9001:2015 certification and transition to the new ISO 9001:2022 standards over the next 3-year cycle. They will assume ownership of the Quality Management System.
The successful applicant will work closely with Radiotherapy, Chemotherapy, inpatient ward, day case unit and outpatient teams to ensure they provide a consistently high standard of care. This will involve real time audits, document creation and management, risk assessments, attendance and organisation of departmental meetings, and data presentations to Directorate leads.
They will also support clinical teams to attain other relevant certifications and/or accreditations.
Job description
Key Dimensions: The post holder will; Work together with senior staff and support staff in all sections of the Directorate and stakeholder organisations to produce a timely, high quality, accurate and cost-effective service. Ensure the requirements of the certification process for the ISO 9001 scheme are fully implemented and maintained within Plymouth Oncology Centres sites on Brent Ward, Chemotherapy Day Case Unit, Oncology Outpatients and Radiotherapy. Develop the appropriate Quality Management system to enable the Trusts Neuro-Endocrine Tumour Service MDT to achieve and maintain eNETS Centre of Excellence status. Act as the Quality representative of the Service during external assessment of the areas they have responsibility for. Ensure that processes needed for the Directorate Quality Management Systems (QMS) are established, implemented, and maintained, reporting to senior management on the QMS performance and any need for improvement. Ensure the promotion of awareness of customer requirements throughout the organisation.Person specification
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
Essential
- Ability to demonstrate and apply specialist proven knowledge of Quality Management Systems
- Ability to develop, schedule and perform audits derived from the standards applied to the department irrespective of their complexity
- Demonstrable understanding of application of audit findings to enable the appropriate action in dealing with non-conformances
- Demonstrable experience in a Quality/Governance related role
- Proven knowledge and/or demonstrable experience of ISO and other certification standards
Desirable
- oDemonstrable previous NHS experience
- oA current Personal Professional Portfolio demonstrating Participation in Continual Professional Development (CPD)
- oCertified internal auditor
QUALIFICATIONS
Essential
- Educated to degree level or a Quality related equivalent - or equivalent demonstrable experience
- oCertified training in Quality Risk Management and Quality Management Systems, Processes and Techniques by a recognised Quality Assurance body
Desirable
- Member of recognised Quality Assurance body
- Trust recognised trained risk assessor
- A willingness to undertake study leading to qualifications required for career advancement o
