Job Description

Rating Surveyor – Manchester

Location: Manchester

Service Line: Rating

The Opportunity

Cushman & Wakefield is continuing to invest heavily in its UK Rating business and is looking to appoint a Rating Surveyor to join its growing Manchester team.

This is an opportunity to join one of the fastest-growing Rating teams in the market. Over recent years, the UK Rating business has more than doubled in headcount, tripled margins and delivered significant revenue growth nationally, with continued investment focused across the North West market.

The Manchester team advises across a diverse mix of retail, office and industrial property for a broad range of occupiers, investors and institutional clients. The role offers exposure to high-profile instructions, strong internal collaboration across service lines and clear progression opportunities within a business actively scaling its presence in the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver business rates advice across retail, office and industrial property
  • Manage rating appeals, checks, challenges and negotiations with the Valuation Office Agency
  • Advise clients on liability mitigation, portfolio strategy and rating implications across acquisitions, disposals and developments
  • Support wider client relationship management and business development activity
  • Work collaboratively with national Rating colleagues and wider Cushman & Wakefield service lines
  • Contribute to the continued growth of the North West Rating platform

About You

  • We will consider MRICS qualified or APC candidates.
  • Experience within a Rating team, ideally across commercial property sectors
  • Strong understanding of the UK business rates system and appeals process
  • Commercially minded with strong client-facing and communication skills
  • Ambitious and motivated by growth, progression and platform opportunity

  • Why Cushman & Wakefield?

This is a chance to join a genuinely growing business at the right time. The UK Rating team is investing heavily across Manchester and the wider North West, with strong leadership backing, growing market share and a clear ambition to continue scaling.

You will join a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment with access to major clients, cross-service line opportunities and a platform that offers both progression and autonomy.
