Description
The Centre for the Study of Existential Risk (CSER) is seeking a Research Assistant/Associate to work on the Evidence Exchange (EvEx) initiative.

EvEx is a major UKRI-funded programme that will bring together universities and research organisations from across the UK to develop new ways for public and civil servants to access research and learning opportunities. The project will help make Policy to Research (P2R) offerings more visible, accessible and connected.

The postholder will play a central role in delivering the EvEx programme, combining independent and collaborative research with the design and delivery of policy-facing initiatives. This includes developing training programmes, workshops, and engagement activities, as well as working closely with policymakers and public sector stakeholders to translate research into policy-relevant formats.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated expertise in conducting high-quality research, alongside experience in stakeholder engagement, partnership development, or policy-facing work. They will be comfortable managing their own workload, contributing to collaborative projects, and communicating complex ideas clearly to diverse audiences. Experience of interest in designing or delivering training, workshops, or capacity-building programmes, especially at the local or regional government level, would be advantageous.

Appointment at Research Associate level is dependent on holding a PhD. If the candidate is yet to receive their PhD award, they will be appointed at Research Assistant level, which will be amended to Research Associate once the PhD has been awarded.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available until 31 July 2029 in the first instance.

Applicants from academia or relevant sectors with appropriate backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
