About The Role
We’re looking for an experienced Senior Craftsperson to support the delivery of temporary plumbing installations across Balfour Beatty Construction Services UK projects nationwide. This is a hands‑on, site‑based role working on varied projects, where safety, quality and teamwork are at the heart of everything you do.
The role is UK‑wide, will involve travel to live construction sites, and may include working away from home depending on project requirements. What you'll be doing
Delivering temporary plumbing installations across construction sites
Working safely and in line with Risk Assessments, Method Statements, Task Briefings and Toolbox Talks
Promoting Balfour Beatty’s Values, Zero Harm, and Right First Time culture
Identifying hazards and implementing effective site controls
Ensuring all tools, plant and equipment are suitable, compliant and well maintained
Monitoring workmanship and supporting quality standards across installations
Assisting with QA activities, including using BIM Field 360
Supporting sustainability and environmental objectives on site
Highlighting additional works, variations and future site requirements
Liaising with supervisors, engineers, subcontractors and site teams
Who we're looking for
Essential
Experience in temporary plumbing installations
Solid understanding of health & safety legislation
CSCS card and a full UK driving licence
Ability to communicate safe systems of work clearly
Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
A proactive approach with the ability to work on your own initiative
Flexibility to work unsociable hours, nights or weekends when required
Desirable
Experience delivering high‑quality plumbing installations on live construction sites
Solution‑focused mindset with the ability to work to tight deadlines
Experience taking ownership of works from start to finish, including handover
Fully qualified Plumber or Mechanical Fitter, with an interest in progressing to Appointed Person (AP) level
