We’re looking for a Senior Pensions Administrator to bring deep technical expertise, a collaborative mindset and a passion for service excellence to our pensions administration team.
In this key role, you’ll help ensure a professional, efficient and compliant pensions administration service for members of the Royal Mail Pension Plan, in line with our contractual commitments to the Plan Trustee and our agreed business processes.
You’ll act as a technical expert within the team, supporting the Team Leader, coaching colleagues, and taking ownership of complex cases - all while helping us continually improve the experience for our members.
What You’ll Be Doing
Supporting the Team Leader with the effective planning and oversight of casework, ensuring benefits information is accurate and delivered on time
Reviewing and validating pension calculations, authorising member record updates and approving benefits going into payment
Providing expert technical guidance on Plan rules and statutory requirements, including emerging legislative changes
Taking responsibility for complex and non‑standard cases, while coaching colleagues to build confidence and capability for the future
Acting as an escalation point for member queries and complaints within your functional area
Championing and driving improvements to our pensions administration operating model, helping transform the member experience
Ensuring compliance with pensions business processes, safe systems of work, and addressing errors to prevent recurrence
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for an experienced pensions professional who combines strong technical knowledge with a customer‑focused and collaborative approach.
You’ll bring:
Experience as a Pensions Administrator or Senior Pensions Administrator
Working knowledge of pensions legislation and the wider statutory framework
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong numeracy, planning, and organisational skills
Experience working to demanding timescales in a commercial environment
Experience of coaching and mentoring colleagues
A professional pensions qualification (desirable)
