Position
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Pharmacist Women’s Health within our clinical pharmacy service based at University Hospital Crosshouse. The Senior Pharmacist will work supportively & collaboratively with Obstetrics and Gynaecology directorate to strengthen Realistic Medicine principles, balance the Four Pillars of People, Service, Quality & Finance and work towards the delivery of the Caring for Ayrshire vision within the specialty.

Position
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Pharmacist Women’s Health within our clinical pharmacy service based at University Hospital Crosshouse. 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday within the hours of 8.30am – 4.30pm.
This post is offered on a fixed term basis for 12 months
You will participate in weekend, public holiday and extended hours as required. In accordance with AFC terms and conditions you may be required to work over 7 days and/or an extended working day. The Women’s Health service operates across Ayrshire therefore travel to other hospital sites may be required. Applicants wishing to work part-time or as part of a job share will be considered.
What You Will Do
The service delivers excellent ante-natal and post-natal care to women within Ayrshire who have the option to deliver with midwife-led or obstetric-led care. The post holder will be required to be a Pharmacist Independent Prescriber to join the multi-disciplinary team and utilise their clinical skills and knowledge to promote safe and effective prescribing to maternity inpatients and outpatients. You will be responsible for the development, provision, management and evaluation of a highly specialised clinical pharmacy service to the AMU, as part of a highly motivated team of pharmacists currently working within Neonatal and Paediatrics.

The post-holder will support the Paediatric and Neonatal Pharmacy team in providing a highly specialised clinical pharmacy service to patients accessing care within the neonatal unit and paediatric wards.
You will also be supported to train and develop advanced clinical knowledge and skills required for the role, whilst being actively encouraged to identify areas for quality improvement, service redesign and clinical research thereby demonstrating their capability against the five pillars of the RPS Core Advanced Pharmacist Curriculum.
