Ward 6A are delighted to be recruiting for a Senior Staff Nurse (Band 6) to join our friendly and supportive team.
We are looking for a motivated, compassionate and approachable nurse who is passionate about delivering high-quality, safe and person-centred care. An interest in Diabetes, Endocrinology and General Medicine would be beneficial.
Teamwork is at the heart of what we do on Ward 6A. Working alongside the Senior Charge Nurse, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the ward, providing visible clinical leadership and supporting the coordination of care across the shift. You will help to maintain a safe and effective skill mix, support and develop our nursing team and healthcare support workers, and contribute to assessment, care planning and delivery of all aspects of care including observations and personal care. You will also support the Senior Charge Nurse with key ward management activities, including supporting the off duty/rota process and annual leave planning, contributing to audits and quality improvement activity, and helping to ensure standards, documentation and patient experience remain consistently high.
The successful candidate will be expected to work a flexible pattern which can include days, nights, weekends and public holidays. We offer self-rostering to support a healthy work/life balance.

Additional Information For Candidates
- Effective from 1st April 2026, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reduced from 37 to 36 hours. Part-time hours will be adjusted on a pro-rata basis. There will be an increase in the hourly rate to ensure that pay remains unaffected.
