We are recruiting Band 6 Haemato-Oncology Senior Staff Nurses to provide specialist expertise and leadership within our Haematology inpatient services on the Derek Mitchell Unit. We are seeking experienced nurses with recognised chemotherapy and haemato-oncology qualifications, confident in shift coordination and committed to delivering high-quality, compassionate care.
This role offers the opportunity to demonstrate advanced clinical skills, lead and support junior staff, and contribute to service development, audit and quality improvement. King's is a leading centre for malignant and non-malignant haematological conditions, with the UK's largest BMT programme and extensive inpatient and ambulatory services.

A Band 6 Haematology Senior Staff Nurse delivers advanced clinical care including central line management, chemotherapyrelated interventions, blood product administration, stemcell transfusions, and ongoing assessment and coordination of complex patients. They act as a clinical resource, maintain accurate records, uphold evidencebased practice, and support quality improvement.
They provide leadership and shift coordination, manage workload and staffing, liaise with medical teams and bed managers, and contribute to risk management and service development. The role includes mentoring junior staff, supervising competencies, supporting education, and participating in research.
They also manage team performance, support wellbeing, maintain compliance with policies, promote safeguarding, and uphold infectioncontrol standards.
