We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised Specialist Doctor - Complex Neuro-disability to join our professional Community Paediatrics Team.

Person specification

Registration and qualifications

Essential

• Full GMC registration, Medical Degree, MBBS or equivalent

Desirable

• A post graduate qualification e.g. MRCPCH by examination, MSc, DCH, DCCH, MBA or other relevant diplomas

Experience

Essential

• 7 years post qualification experience, of which a minimum of 4 years as Registrar or Staff grade, at least two of which must be in Community Paediatrics; Experience in the clinical management of children including those with neuro-developmental, emotional, behavioural and attachment difficulties, child protection, and adult health issues pertinent to parenting; Experience of working with Looked after children in particular ability to complete Initial Health Assessments independently.

Desirable

• Specialist experience in relevant area of practice

Knowledge

Essential

• Able to work unsupervised, with awareness of limitations; Good written and oral communication; Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively; Demonstrated ability to work with other health professionals; Experience of working with a multi-disciplinary team

Desirable

• Demonstrated ability to work unsupervised and make decisions; Demonstrated ability to lead a multi-disciplinary team e.g. in project work; Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively e.g. report writing; thesis

• Relevant clinical skills; Able to work under pressure/ meet deadlines; Communicate complex often sensitive information; IT proficient; Able to manage risk and clinically prioritise.
