Description
Applications are invited from Health and Care Professions Council state registered Biomedical Scientists to join our team providing a comprehensive Histopathology and Diagnostic Cytology Service in the Central Scotland area. The post will be based at Forth Valley Royal Hospital.
The department is a well-equipped laboratory with recent investment in automatic microtomes and ergonomic laboratory benches in most areas of the lab. The department provides support to the MOHs micrographic clinic. A Rapid On-Site Evaluation (ROSE) for EBUS samples has recently commenced - experience in these techniques is not necessary as full training shall be given. The department is at the start of its digital pathology journey with renovation of existing lab space to accommodate two new scanners. The department is actively investing in a healthy musculoskeletal workplace with the purchase of 8 new fully automated microtomes and replacement of existing lab benches with ergonomic benching.

Applicants must have.
- Must be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council as a Biomedical Scientist with experience of working in a cellular pathology laboratory.
- Must have or be working towards the IBMS Specialist Portfolio in discipline specific to Cellular Pathology.
As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
