Our Emergency Departments provide innovative and fastpaced integrated emergency care to a wide range of patientsfrom East Kent. It is our inspiration to develop into anacademic and research unit in emergency medicine for Kent.The Emergency Departments, one at the William HarveyHospital (WHH), Ashford and the other at the Queen Elizabeththe Queen Mother Hospital (QEQMH), Margate, each offer afull 24 hour emergency service. The Emergency Departmentsare supported by co-located Urgent Treatment Centres, a 24hour UTC at the Kent and Canterbury Hospital with a further 7community UTCs in the region

Critical Care in East Kent Hospitals is at an exciting period of redevelopment, having attracted national investment to deliver a critical care hub for Kent and Medway. A new 24-bed Intensive Care Unit is being built at the Willian Harvey Hospital, to include bespoke training facilities, including dedicated space for in-situ simulation training. This new appointment reflects the expansion in critical care.Our team has a burgeoning research portfolio, including high-profile national studies.
