The Role

A full UK driving license is essential for this role.

To undertake an extensive variety of building maintenance and repair tasks including joinery work ranging from fit out work, ceiling repairs, partition construction to workshop manufactured joinery (doors etc.). Works with all types of ironmongery, lock suites, access control, exit devices and window mechanisms. To carry out inspection, maintenance and repair of all internal and external building fabric, structural/non-structural elements such as roof, wall, floor, ceiling, partition and cladding systems. To carry out minor works including alteration and refurbishments in compliance with NHS Healthcare Standards and health & safety legislation. To inspect, repair and maintain all fixed and non-fixed NHS assets and equipment.

Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:

Access equipment; training on routine Safety Inspection

Electrical awareness and safe isolation procedures in line with SHTM-06-01 as to fulfil duties as a restricted CP

Working Knowledge of National NHS Scotland Technical Standards, “Scottish Health Technical Memorandums (SHTMs)” Operational and Management Procedures

Board Mandatory H&S training: Manual Handling, COSSH, Fire Safety etc

Ability to work unsupervised

These additional qualifications in conjunction with the core requirements are deemed to equal HNC Level (equating to an intermediate level of theoretical knowledge). Enhanced training listed in section 2 is a mandatory requirement for the post and will be provided on the job from date of appointment
