The HR Business Partner will provide comprehensive, high‑quality HR support to people leaders and employees within a defined business area. Acting as a trusted advisor, you will embed corporate HR strategy into day‑to‑day operations, ensuring people initiatives are closely aligned to business objectives.
This role plays a critical part in adding value through effective workforce planning, talent management, employee engagement and the promotion of an inclusive culture. You will use data‑driven insight and strong stakeholder relationships to influence outcomes and drive sustainable people solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Partner with leadership teams to develop and deliver People Plans aligned to business strategy.
Provide expert HR advice across employee relations, performance management, reward, talent management, engagement, selection, and learning & development.
Coach and support managers on complex people issues, including performance and employee relations.
Use people data and insight to diagnose issues and recommend effective solutions.
Support talent pipelines, succession planning and internal mobility as a ‘talent broker’.
Promote a consistent employee experience and inclusive culture, supporting organisational change.
Work collaboratively with HR Centres of Excellence to deliver a seamless and proactive HR service.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
CIPD qualified (Level 5 or above).
Relevant, broad HR experience, ideally in a Business Partnering or generalist role.
Strong employment law and employee relations expertise.
Commercially minded with the ability to influence and build trusted stakeholder relationships.
Confident working in a fast‑paced environment, managing multiple priorities.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret HR data and trends.
Excellent communication, presentation and organisational skills.
Experience in a unionised environment and knowledge of construction or engineering sectors is desirable.
Experience using HR systems, ideally Workday.
