SOC 3556 (85% match) is an eligible occupation, with a going rate of £55,200, and Saint-Gobain UK & Ireland is a licensed sponsor. That is our reading of the rules. Whether they issue a Certificate of Sponsorship is still their call.
This could also be SOC 2129 (Engineering professionals not elsewhere classified., If the role is primarily technical acoustics work rather than business development). We read the code off the advert, so it is our best guess, not the employer's.
Saint-Gobain UK & Ireland is looking for a Business Development Manager – Acoustics to join our growing Acoustic Development team in our Retrofit & Refurbishment sector, driving specification and technical influence across the North of England.
This is a newly created role covering the Home Counties and Midlands, with regular travel up through Birmingham and Manchester and the wider Midlands corridor. You'll be working alongside our existing BDM Acoustics covering the South, splitting the country roughly down the middle, and giving you real ownership of a strategic patch and its key accounts.
The Role:
Our Acoustic Development team focuses on indoor acoustics and sustainable solutions across the retrofit and refurbishment sectors, with a particular emphasis on education and healthcare, alongside a strong pipeline of office fit out and refurbishment projects.
You'll be engaging architects, acoustic consultants and key stakeholders to influence design decisions early, supporting our sales teams to convert specifications into commercial outcomes, and building genuine thought leadership in the acoustics space across your patch. This is a technical, relationship led role rather than a traditional sales position, and success will come from credibility with specifiers and consultants as much as commercial results.

The offer must clear both the general threshold and the SOC 3556 going rate of £55,200. New-entrant and shortage discounts can lower it.
