An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our integrated Mental Health social work teams. We have three vacancies so when you apply please state which role is your preference. One application can be considered for all three roles if you wish.
We have the following vacancies due to individuals leaving long term roles for their own further development.
1: Cambridge City & South Adult Mental Health Social Work Team, based at Union House, Cambridge, CB4 1PR
2: Huntingdon and Fenland Adult Mental Health Social Work Team with the option of being based either at: Newtown Centre, Nursery Road, Huntingdon, PE29 3RJ OR Agenoria House (North Cambs Hospital Site), Wisbech, PE13 3AB.
3: Huntingdon and Fenland Older Adult’s Mental Health Social Work Team the option of being based either at: Newtown Centre, Nursery Road, Huntingdon, PE29 3RJ OR Agenoria House (North Cambs Hospital Site), Wisbech, PE13 3AB.
Experience in mental health is desirable but not essential. We welcome applications from qualified social workers (registered with Social Work England) who can demonstrate transferable skills and can bring commitment to developing their practice within mental health services and any transferable skills would be considered.

The Mental Health Social Work Service is an integral part of the mental health multidisciplinary team and as such we are co-located within the wider CPFT mental health team. The mental health social workers based within the service are a highly valued group. They provide legal expertise and a social perspective to the multidisciplinary team, ensuring that service users receive a recovery-focused and holistic service to support their recovery and wellbeing. Social work input is aimed at recognising people’s strengths, enabling people to exert choice and to live fulfilled lives, whilst supporting them to minimise risks to their wellbeing. There is a strong culture of support within the team and colleagues share knowledge, support and experience.

We are planning to hold interviews for this role in person on Monday 14 and Tuesday15 September 2026 in person at the Newtown Centre, Huntingdon.
