What You’ll Do
The Advanced Maintenance Technician will oversee the completion of maintenance activities, identify resolution of complex technical issues and perform daily preventative and breakdown maintenance activities on Plant and Workshop Machinery
You’ll also
- Support and lead new installations, on Plant and Workshop Machinery
- Work alongside external contractors to ensure machine maintenance and facility repairs is carried out in respect to MTC instruction and standards.
- In conjunction with the Health and Safety team review external contractors’ health and safety documentation prior to work commencing on site
- Carry out mechanical and electrical fault diagnosis and problem solving on facility plant and workshop machinery.
- Respond to breakdowns & ad-hoc maintenance requests.
- Complete service reports for all work carried out.
- Complete required training and development to maintain competency in the role.
- Produce risk assessments and COSHH assessment for maintenance operations and permit‑to‑work processes, ensuring complex or high‑risk tasks are managed safely.
- Lead communication and coordination with external contractors and suppliers, managing technical discussions, agreeing scopes of work, and ensuring standards are maintained - with a view to providing a solution to repair, replace or maintain facility plant and workshop machinery where required.
Support the Maintenance Operations Manager in planning weekly workloads, shutdown periods, major overhauls, and improvement projects.Support the definition of technical standards and best practice for maintenance tasks, repairs, and troubleshooting methods.Analyse recurring faults, producing clear recommendations for redesign, replacement, or process change.
Who We’re Looking For.
The advance Maintenance Technician will be NVQ level 3 or equivalent qualified in a Maintenance discipline.
You’ll be able to interpret and read schematic circuit diagrams and line schematics as well as being able to work at height.
The role will also require.
- Standby cover out of hours on a 24/7 rota basis in case of emergencies and be flexible to provide cover if required for holidays and sickness.
- Good problem-solving skills, identifying the problem then assessing the impact.
- Ability to use a mobile phone system to open, close jobs on a CAFM system.
- Full driving licence
- IT literate in excel and word.
Desirable Skills/Qualifications/Experience
- IOSH Managing Safely
- Electrical Maintenance qualification
- 18th edition
- Knowledge of Hazop process
- Facility M&E design and commissioning support
- Worked with manufacturing operations teams
