This role sits at the start of the development flow. You’ll generate airframe concepts, evaluate trade-offs and use CFD and analysis tools to guide design decisions before handing concepts over to the detailed design team.
You’ll work closely with propulsion engineers to ensure tight integration between airframe and engine performance.
What You'll Do:
Develop aircraft concepts from initial requirements and mission profiles
Define airframe layouts, configurations and aerodynamic surfaces
Perform aerodynamic analysis using CFD and analytical methods
Assess performance trade-offs including weight, drag, stability and efficiency
Support early structural and systems integration considerations
Collaborate with mechanical design and development teams to ensure concepts are feasible
Refine designs based on test data and iteration feedback
Desirable Qualifications, Experience & Attributes:
Degree in Aerospace Engineering or related discipline
Strong understanding of aerodynamics and aircraft performance
Experience with CFD tools and aerodynamic analysis methods
Ability to work at the concept and systems level
