Community Centre Programme Assistant

The Community Centre Programme Assistant will support the delivery of engaging activities, day services, and wellbeing programmes for older people attending Jewish Care Community Centres and Community Hubs. Working as part of a collaborative team, the postholder will help create welcoming and inclusive environments where members can socialise, participate in activities, and maintain independence and wellbeing. The role involves supporting activity delivery, member engagement, volunteer involvement, and operational tasks that contribute to the smooth running of Community Services. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is compassionate, organised, and passionate about supporting older people within a community-focused environment.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a caring and enthusiastic Community Centre Programme Assistant to support activities and day services for older people within our Community Centres and Community Hubs. You will assist with the planning and delivery of social, wellbeing, and leisure activities, helping members feel engaged, connected, and supported. The role includes supporting volunteers, setting up activities and events, maintaining accurate records, and contributing to a safe and welcoming environment for members, families, and visitors. The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, a positive and empathetic approach, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Experience supporting older people, people living with dementia, or community groups would be beneficial.
