Description

Mace combines construction expertise with consultancy to unlock potential in every person or project and redefine the boundaries of ambition. Our values shape the way we consult and define the people we want to join us on our journey.

Hinkley Point C is helping to secure the UK's low-carbon energy future, delivering reliable, affordable electricity to millions of homes for generations to come. As part of this nationally significant programme, you'll join a world-class team driving innovation, collaboration and excellence across every stage of delivery. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a project of unprecedented scale and complexity, while developing your career in an environment where your expertise, leadership and ambition can make a lasting impact.

The project: An exciting opportunity to join thousands of workers across Britain who are working hard to build two new nuclear reactors at Hinkley Point C, one of the UK’s largest construction projects. The first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in Britain providing reliable zero-carbon nuclear electricity for around six million homes, essential for our energy security.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Delivering construction packages collaboratively, translating client vision into safe, buildable onsite plans.
  • Managing integrity, assuring quality delivery while supporting long-term, sustainable business strategy.
  • Developing and support teams through technical leadership, knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
  • Directing and developing teams, driving performance through coaching and technical expertise.
  • Owning delivery of structure or fit‑out packages, assuring safety, quality and programme.
  • Managing lookahead planning, progress reporting and timely escalation against the critical path.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders, digital delivery and centres of excellence to support net zero outcomes.

You’ll need to have:

  • Delivering projects, including construction sequencing, recovery plans and resource allocation.
  • Good understanding of the post holder’s obligations under the CDM regulations.
  • Able to write informative, concise and meaningful reports.
  • Possess excellent organisation and communication skills.
  • Qualifications in civil, mechanical, electrical engineering or construction management, or equivalent vocational training and experience.
  • SMSTS or IOSH qualification holder.
  • Able to deliver results when working under pressure.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience of operating in a high-security environment is advantageous.
  • Experience within the Nuclear environment is advantageous but can be offset by experience within large Civil Engineering/Building/MEH projects.
