This is an appointment is for a substantive Consultant in Interventional Cardiology within the Heart, Lung & Critical Care (HLCC) Clinical Group of Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. The HLCC Group is one of the largest providers of cardiovascular care in Europe. The appointee will contribute to the delivery and ongoing development of the interventional service at the Royal Brompton Hospital (RBH).
The post will involve 4 interventional lab sessions at RBH with opportunities for cross cover across sites. Although not essential, structural skillsets would be desirable given the ever-growing TAVI programmes. The successful candidate would be expected to undertake weekly interventional and outpatient clinics and play a central role in the revascularisation MDT. Successful candidate will be encouraged to develop and improve upon the established programmes and to take on clinical leadership roles where appropriate. An active research interest and background is encouraged. A proactive role in education is essential.
