A rare opportunity has arisen to join one of the UK's leading diagnostic pathology services. North West London Pathology (NWLP) is one of the UK's largest laboratory providers, delivering high-quality diagnostics across a diverse patient population. Our UKAS-accredited (ISO 15189:2022) Cellular Pathology service operates a hub-and-spoke model, with Histopathology, Cytology and Electron Microscopy based at Charing Cross Hospital, and the Specialist Integrated Haematological Malignancy Diagnostic Service (SIHMDS) at Hammersmith Hospital.
We are seeking an ambitious Consultant to join our highly regarded SIHMDS team in a substantive 10 PA post. Working with expert pathology and clinical haematology colleagues, you will diagnose a wide range of complex haematological disorders including malignancies, myelodysplastic syndromes, bone marrow failure disorders, pancytopenias and paroxysmal nocturnal haemoglobinuria.
This Monday to Friday post has no on-call commitment, offering an excellent work-life balance. Consultants attend MDTs remotely and contribute to integrated, patient-centred care across the region. You will report samples from the Trust's internationally recognised MPN/CML service, gaining exposure to complex cases. As part of a world-leading Academic Health Science Centre, you'll benefit from excellent opportunities for research, education, leadership and career development within a supportive, collaborative team.
We are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Consultant Pathologist to join the SIHMDS team. Working alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team, you will provide a high quality diagnostic pathology service, participate in MDTs, contribute to external quality assurance and support the delivery of safe, effective, patient-centred care across North West London.
You will work closely with clinical, laboratory and managerial colleagues to maintain high standards of quality, governance and service delivery, while contributing to audit, innovation, service improvement and implementation of national best practice. Opportunities to contribute to research, education and training are strongly encouraged, with an established academic culture and excellent relationships with clinical teams across our partner Trusts.
The role includes teaching, supervision and mentorship of resident doctors and scientific staff, alongside opportunities to develop leadership skills, contribute to business planning and represent the service within regional clinical networks.
We are committed to helping our staff achieve their full potential through a range of educational and professional development opportunities. We also offer flexible working, including home working where service needs allow, and welcome conversations about flexibility.

The offer must clear both the general threshold and the SOC 2112 going rate of £40,300. New-entrant and shortage discounts can lower it.
