Ever wondered what it takes to turn raw data into decisions that matter on the battlefield? As a Data Scientist at Systematic, you'll design and build the AI capabilities that give defence forces a real operational edge – and work directly with the people who use them.
The job: AI that makes a difference, from concept to customer
Working closely with Defence customers and internal teams, you will design, implement, and support AI-driven solutions within Systematic's SitaWare ecosystem, contributing directly to real-world operational effectiveness. You'll take AI capabilities from concept through to deployment, always keeping the end user's needs in focus.
In short, you can look forward to:
You'll be based in Farnborough, Hampshire, UK, and should expect around 30% travel time – mainly domestic travel to support customers on-site at their locations across the UK, plus some international travel for customer activities and internal company activities such as training.
The team: join a collaborative and international team, close to the customer
You'll join a team of 18 colleagues spread across Farnborough (UK), Bucharest (Romania) and Paris (France). The Western Europe team is a multidisciplinary group of project managers, solution architects, engineers, trainers and consultants, working highly collaboratively to ensure successful delivery of our projects. You'll report to a Senior Manager and work alongside Data Engineers and Intelligence Domain Advisors on a daily basis.
What you bring: technical capability and a problem-solving mindset
You hold a Bachelor's degree or higher in Data Science, Computer Science or a related field, along with around 2 years of experience in a Data Scientist role within the software/IT industry. Experience working directly with external customers is desirable, as is knowledge of, or experience in, the defence/military domain.
You're comfortable working well in teams or independently, bring excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, and are a strong problem-solver.
Please note that you must have the right to live and work in the UK and meet the requirements for security checks commensurate with your role (UK SC minimum, DV preferred). Read more here.
