Strategic tip: apply early

Sponsored roles fill quickly, and the ones that name a salary go quickest. If this one looks right, apply in the first few days rather than saving it for the weekend.

About the role

Are you an experienced project manager with a passion for digital arts, creative engagement, and expanding opportunities for young people? Do you thrive on bringing partners together to deliver ambitious projects that inspire creativity and make a lasting impact?

About us

At the National Science and Media Museum, part of the Science Museum Group, we explore the culture of image and sound technologies and their impact on our lives. As we deliver our ambitious vision for the future, we're committed to creating opportunities that inspire creativity, curiosity and participation, particularly for young people across Bradford and beyond.

To support this work, we're looking for a Project Manager to lead the next phase of our award-winning Digital Creatives programme. This is a fixed-term opportunity until July 2027, based at the National Science and Media Museum in Bradford with hybrid working available.

About the role

Digital Creatives is an ambitious programme that helps young people across Bradford develop their creative voices through collaboration with professional digital artists. After an initial development phase supported by Arts Council England, Bradford Council, Born in Bradford and Bradford 2025 the project is now entering an exciting new phase.

As Project Manager, you'll lead the day-to-day delivery of the programme, working closely with schools, artists, funders and partners to ensure activities are engaging, impactful and delivered to a high standard. You'll oversee project planning, budgets, reporting and stakeholder engagement, helping to ensure that young people have access to inspiring creative opportunities whilst also embedding learning and best practice within the museum.

Working as part of a collaborative and ambitious team, you'll play a key role in shaping the future direction of the project and helping to maximise its impact across Bradford.

About you

You'll be an organised and proactive project manager with experience of delivering complex projects involving multiple stakeholders, competing priorities and fixed deadlines. You will be equally comfortable working strategically and operationally, balancing long-term planning with day-to-day delivery.

You'll bring experience of building strong partnerships and maintaining positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including schools, artists, freelancers, community organisations and funding partners. With excellent communication skills, you'll be confident engaging different audiences and presenting information in a clear and compelling way.

You will have experience of managing budgets, coordinating activity across multiple locations and evaluating projects to demonstrate impact. You'll be someone who can bring people together around a shared vision, motivate others and navigate challenges with a practical and solutions-focused approach.

Most importantly, you'll share our passion for creating opportunities for young people and helping ensure that creativity, culture and innovation are accessible to all.

Don't feel you meet every requirement? We'd still love to hear from you. We recognise that people gain skills and experience in different ways and welcome applications from candidates with transferable skills and experiences.

    About sponsorship for this role

Does this job guarantee visa sponsorship?

Not necessarily. Science Museum Group holds a sponsor licence, but sponsorship for a specific hire is always the employer's decision. Be upfront in your application that you'll require it.

What salary is needed for this role to be eligible?

The offer must clear both the general threshold and the SOC 2131 going rate of £58,200. New-entrant and shortage discounts can lower it.
