An exciting opportunity has arisen for the post of District Nursing Sister / Team Leader in Flintshire District Nursing Service.
The successful candidate will lead and manage the District Nursing Team, supporting the team members and working closely with other Health and Social Care colleagues, Unscheduled Care and out of hour’s Community Nursing Services.
Main duties of the job
To lead a team of Registered Nurses and Health Care Support Workers. To provide specialist advice in the assessment and delivery of a clinically effective Community Nursing Service. To take a lead in co-ordinating and liaising with the multi-disciplinary team, families and carers. The post holder carries continuing responsibility over a 24 hour period for a defined caseload, which is complex and variable.
The post holder will work autonomously & collaboratively with other agencies for the provision of patient services.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

- NMC Registered Nurse
- Post Graduate Specialist Practitioner Degree
- Nurse Prescribing
- Evidence of ongoing education & professional development
- Mentorship & assessment training
Desirable criteria
- Independent Prescribing - Following successful completion of the required qualification and annotation on the professional register, undertake Independent Prescribing (IP) for any medical condition within area of competence. Responsible and accountable for own independent prescribing practice in accordance with BCUHB Policies and Professional Codes at all times Maintain knowledge, skills and competency and escalate accordingly if outside scope of practice or competence
