About the Job:
Reporting to the Head of Logistics & Trade Compliance, you'll play a key role in enabling commercial success by ensuring opportunities, customer engagements, demonstrations and exports progress through compliant and auditable pathways.
What You'll Do:
Support export control assessments across controlled goods, technology and software.
Assess sanctions risk, end-user/end-use concerns and destination restrictions.
Support licence applications and approvals, including OGELs, OIELs and SIELs.
Ensure compliance with UK export control regulations and relevant international considerations.
Partner with Commercial teams during bid reviews and customer engagement activities.
Identify trade compliance risks early in the sales lifecycle.
Provide practical guidance on licensing requirements, sanctions exposure and export restrictions.
Maintain clear records of advice, decisions and escalations.
Develop and maintain trade compliance policies, procedures and working instructions.
Deliver training and awareness sessions across the business.
Embed compliance gateways into business development, engineering releases and shipment approval processes.
Promote a culture of compliance through coaching and knowledge sharing.
Maintain accurate and auditable compliance records.
Manage licence conditions, reporting requirements and compliance documentation.
Support internal audits and regulatory inspections.
Produce compliance metrics, reports and dashboards to monitor performance.
Drive improvements in compliance systems, trackers and digital controls.
Support the development of scalable compliance processes that enable business growth.
Collaborate across functions to streamline compliance activities and improve visibility.
Desirable Qualifications, Experience & Attributes:
Minimum 5 years' experience in export controls, trade compliance, customs compliance or a related regulatory environment.
Strong knowledge of UK export control regulations, sanctions screening and licensing requirements.
Understanding of controlled technology, intangible exports and end-user/end-use controls.
Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
Ability to interpret complex regulations and provide practical business guidance.
Experience managing compliance records and supporting audit readiness.
Experience within aerospace, defence, advanced engineering, manufacturing or other highly regulated sectors.
Knowledge of ECJU licensing processes and LITE/SPIRE systems.
Experience managing OGEL, OIEL and SIEL licences.
Familiarity with ITAR/EAR requirements and international trade compliance considerations.
Experience developing compliance dashboards, reporting tools and document management systems.
