Overview
We are seeking an experienced Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Platform Provisioning Engineer to join a leading global financial services organisation on a major cloud transformation programme.
This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a next-generation multi-cloud engineering team responsible for building and evolving an enterprise cloud platform spanning Google Cloud Platform (GCP), AWS, Azure and on-premise environments.
The successful candidate will play a key role in designing, developing and managing cloud platform provisioning solutions with a primary focus on GCP, while driving infrastructure automation, Kubernetes platform engineering, and AI-assisted DevOps practices.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, implement and maintain platform provisioning and management solutions primarily within Google Cloud Platform (GCP), with the ability to work across AWS and Azure environments.
• Design, provision and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Build, deploy and manage Kubernetes and containerised platforms to support resilient cloud-native applications.
• Develop automation solutions using Python and Terraform to streamline infrastructure provisioning and operational processes.
• Implement and enhance automated deployment pipelines for cloud infrastructure and platform services.
• Leverage AI-assisted coding tools such as GitHub Co-Pilot and Claude Code to improve development efficiency and code quality.
• Drive automation initiatives to reduce manual intervention and improve platform consistency and reliability.
• Manage and troubleshoot cloud infrastructure using shell scripting and command-line tools (e.g. Bash).
• Collaborate closely with engineering, architecture and platform teams to integrate provisioning solutions across the wider cloud platform.
• Contribute to the continuous development and evolution of a large-scale enterprise multi-cloud platform.
• Ensure cloud environments adhere to security, compliance and operational best practices.
• Identify opportunities to improve platform performance, reliability, scalability and developer experience.
Essential Skills & Experience
• Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Proven experience designing, implementing and managing platform provisioning solutions within GCP environments.
• Strong experience provisioning and managing cloud infrastructure using Terraform (Infrastructure as Code).
•Strong Python scripting and automation experience.Experience with Git and modern DevOps practices.
• Experience implementing automated infrastructure deployment and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience using GitHub Co-Pilot and Claude Code to optimise DevOps and software development workflows.
• Strong ability to work within a Shell environment (e.g. Bash).
• Demonstrated ability to drive and implement automation initiatives.
• Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes and containerisation technologies.
Desirable Skills:
• Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Experience with Microsoft Azure.
• Experience working within large-scale enterprise or financial services environments.
• Experience supporting multi-cloud platforms across GCP, AWS, Azure and on-premise infrastructure.
