At Practice Plus Group Hospital Birmingham, you'll be part of a team that is passionate about delivering outstanding patient outcomes. As Head of Nusing and Clinical Services, you'll work closely with senior clinical and operational leaders to ensure safe, effective and patient focused care across our surgical and diagnostic services.
As Head of Nursing and Clinical Services, you'll provide strategic, professional and operational leadership across Nursing and Allied Health Professional services, supporting the Hospital Director and working alongside the Medical Director to deliver exceptional clinical outcomes.
You'll have responsibility for services including theatres, wards, pre-operative assessment, outpatients, endoscopy, therapies, imaging, pharmacy, sterile services and virtual care platforms. You'll lead on quality improvement, workforce development, clinical governance and regulatory compliance, ensuring the hospital continues to deliver safe and effective care for every patient.

- Providing visible leadership across all clinical departments.
- Supporting Heads of Department to deliver safe, effective and high quality services.
- Driving continuous improvement, innovation and service development.
- Leading clinical governance, risk management, audit and quality assurance activities.
- Ensuring compliance with CQC standards and regulatory requirements.
- Supporting workforce planning, recruitment, retention and staff development.
- Managing operational performance, budgets and productivity alongside senior leaders.
Investigating complaints, incidents and patient feedback to identify learning opportunities.
Building strong relationships with NHS partners, stakeholders and external organisations.
Contributing to hospital management and on-call responsibilities.

To be successful in this role, you'll be a registered Nurse (NMC) or Allied Health Professional (HCPC) with substantial senior leadership experience within an acute healthcare environment.
You'll also bring:
- Extensive experience leading multidisciplinary clinical teams
- Strong understanding of clinical governance, risk management and quality improvement
- Proven experience in delivering regulatory compliance and CQC standards
- Budget management and workforce planning experience
- A track record of implementing change and improving patient outcomes.
- Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
- A commitment to developing others and creating a positive team culture.
Experience within the independent healthcare sector would be advantageous.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This role includes participation in the hospital on-call rota and may require travel to corporate meetings as required.
