About the Role
Quantum Light is looking for a world-class AI Researcher with a quantitative trading background to join a newly forming team. This is a foundational hire: you will lead our AI research on developing a quantitative investment strategy for VC.
What You'll Do
- Bring deep technical expertise in AI training — including model architecture, training schedule, objective functions, use of RL, etc
- Critically evaluate and improve our existing pipeline
- Apply your quant trading background to develop new sources of signal for VC
- Build out AI quant research function as it scales
Must-have
- Track record of training complex neural networks for production — not just fine-tuning or applying pre-trained weights
- Quantitative trading or research background
- Good understanding of PyTorch internals, GPU architecture, quantization, performance tuning, etc
- Great knowledge of modern neural network architectures
- Track record of developing alphas that make money in a hedge fund
- Experience with mid-frequency and cross-sectional trading strategies
- Technical leadership skills
