About the role
We are excited to offer a Healthcare Assistant position within Ward 37, a 33-bed cardiology unit within the Tertiary Division.

The posts at available as one full-time position of 37.5 hours per week.
Ward 37 is a busy and dynamic environment that specialises in Cardiology, but also cares for a broad range of patients. While many of our patients are admitted with acute cardiac conditions requiring cardiac monitoring, we also care for medical outlying patients from other specialises and patients requiring enhanced care.
You will be joining a friendly, supportive team dedicated to delivering the highest standards of care, with a strong focus on compassionate care, teamwork and professional development.

As a Healthcare Assistant, you role will include:
Person specification
Qualifications
Essential
- National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 2 or 3 in Care (or equivalent)
- Basic level of general education (GCSEs in Maths and English)
- Excellent command of English - particularly in verbal communication
Desirable
- Care Competency Certificate
Experience
Essential
- Experience of working within a team
- Experience of working with people
Desirable
- Experience of working in an acute hospital trust
- Experience as a Healthcare Assistant
Skills/Attributes
Essential
- Understanding of quality and change in the clinical setting.
- Ability to communicate in a variety of settings with patients of varying levels of understanding.
Desirable
- Ability to perform ECGs
- Ability to undertake venepuncture
- Ability to monitor basic observations (Blood Pressure, Heart Rate, Oxygen Saturations etc)
