The IT Transition Manager (Contract – 1 to 2 months) is a full-time remote role responsible for overseeing and coordinating the transition of IT services, systems, and operations between suppliers, environments, or delivery models.
Day-to-day tasks include planning and executing transition activities, managing timelines and dependencies, and ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
The role involves working closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, document processes, and define transition plans, as well as tracking progress, identifying risks, and implementing mitigation strategies.
The IT Transition Manager will prepare clear handover documentation, manage change requests, and ensure that service levels, security, and compliance requirements are maintained throughout the transition.
Collaboration with project managers, technical teams, and client representatives is essential to deliver a smooth, controlled transition and successful go-live.
Qualifications
- Experience in IT transition and service management, including planning, coordinating, and executing transitions of systems or services.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage timelines, milestones, dependencies, and risks in fast-paced environments.
- Proficiency in stakeholder management and communication, including facilitating meetings, preparing reports, and aligning expectations across technical and non-technical groups.
- Solid understanding of IT infrastructure, cloud services, and digital transformation concepts, with the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary technical teams.
- Experience with change management and governance processes, including documentation, approvals, and adherence to security and compliance standards.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting, prioritise tasks, and maintain high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., ITIL, PMP, PRINCE2, Agile/Scrum) are advantageous.
- Previous experience in consultancy or working with public sector or enterprise clients is beneficial.
