Strategic tip: apply early

Sponsored roles fill quickly, and the ones that name a salary go quickest. If this one looks right, apply in the first few days rather than saving it for the weekend.

About The Role

LGBT Foundation is an impactful, vibrant charity with a wide portfolio of well-established services and rapidly developing new initiatives aimed at meeting the needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and trans people.

This exciting new role will oversee the residents of an LGBT specific safe accommodation project in Greater Manchester. As LGBT+ Safe Accommodation Worker (Domestic Abuse Services) you will oversee the day to day running of a 7 flat, safe accommodation unit and support people to maintain their own accommodation.

The role focuses on safety planning, risk reduction, recovery, and empowerment, ensuring that individuals who have experienced abuse receive inclusive, affirming, and equitable support tailored to their identities and experiences.

In this role, you will be instrumental in providing support for LGBT+ people fleeing domestic abuse and seeking their own temporary accommodation as a stepping stone to securing their own property long term.

This is an exciting opportunity to provide a much-needed space for people who face barriers in accessing appropriate support from mainstream services and may fear or may have encountered discrimination amongst other barriers.

Key Areas

Advocacy & partnership working;

Support individuals impacted by domestic abuse;

Accommodation based support;

Safeguarding, risk assessment and care planning.

We are taking positive action to encourage applications from people of colour (PoC) and other racially minoritised communities, trans*, non-binary, and/or older people (aged 50+), to improve the representation of colleagues from these communities in our staff team.

  • Trans is an umbrella & inclusive term used to describe people whose gender identity differs from that which they were assigned at birth; including non-binary people, cross-dressers, and those who partially or incompletely identify with their sex assigned at birth.
