Peer Support Worker (Enablement Team)

It is why we're embedding lived experience roles across our mental health and learning disability services, and we're looking for a peer practitioner to join us at this exciting time.
This role, specifically, is for someone with lived experience of receiving support from secondary care mental health services via CMHT's, who feels comfortable using their experiences, to show empathy and understanding to help others and to inspire hope and recovery. This role is within a community setting and we are looking for someone who has resilience, great communication skills and willing to utilise and share their lived experiences to support others.
In this role the appointed candidate will have completed their ImROC PSW training and Care Certificate. We are looking for someone with experience of working in a PSW role, Maths and English at grades A-C qualifications and a level 3 qualification relevant to the role. The Peer practitioner employed will be supported by the Senior PSW to safely navigate and thrive in the role. They will also work alongside colleagues to help engage and deliver services and promote recovery, working closely with the teams Occupational therapists, nurses and support workers.
You will work as part of the well established Enablement Team based at Warwick Resource Centre. Your role will involve supporting the teams occupational therapists, nurses to deliver specific interventions in an individual or group capacity to patients who may benefit from your lived experience lens.
Undertake visits as a member of the multidisciplinary team delivering support based on peer principles and practice.
To share personal experiences of recovery and coping to build connection and provide support.
Demonstrate knowledge of specific physical, emotional, psychological, social, cultural and spiritual needs of the service users and carers and, taking these into account, implementing the appropriate action to meet those needs, in line with own competency.
Develop individual recovery plans to meet the immediate and ongoing needs of the patient and their carers.
To deliver effective clinical supervision to Service specific PSW across Coventry and Warwickshire
Lead PSW community of practice session in the absence of the Senior PSW or when delegated responsibility.
To offer occasional input to the Recovery and Wellbeing Academy in the cocreation of course material relevant to your lived experience
