Pre-Construction Manager

BAM UK & Ireland are seeking an experienced and strategic Pre-Construction Manager to lead and coordinate preconstruction activities across the Business Unit and wider Sector. Working closely with senior stakeholders, youll drive a consistent and effective approach to opportunity management, resource planning and bid delivery, ensuring alignment with BAMs strategic objectives and standards.

This is a key leadership role, providing direction and support to multidisciplinary preconstruction teams while helping to secure high-quality opportunities, strengthen client relationships and deliver sustainable business growth. • This role will be based out of our head offices in Kilsyth or Inverness.

• Working in close co-operation with the Sector Pre-Construction Lead and Sector Client Director to focus on preconstruction activities that meet the Segment and Sector Operational Plan objectives and long-term strategy
• Overseeing the development of preconstruction solutions for emerging opportunities, supporting in building a robust pipeline by pre-positioning ahead of bids and feeding insights into the bid team
• Reviewing all work winning decisions, including frameworks, to ensure strategic alignment and client focus, collaborating with the Segment and Sector preconstruction teams regarding the approach to the opportunity
• Engaging with the Sector Pre-Construction Lead to resource each opportunity and bid, to enable profitable and sustainable solutions leading to successful project delivery
• Engaging with central Preconstruction Team to source appropriate specialist bid resource
• Supporting Bid Managers prepare and deliver winning solutions, meeting BAM Baseline and Primary Processes

• Degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline such as Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Project Management, or a related construction or engineering field.
• Significant experience in preconstruction, bid management, estimating, project delivery, or work-winning within the construction or infrastructure sector.
• Strong understanding of construction procurement routes, commercial principles, risk management and tendering processes.
• Experience working within the built environment or associated industries
• Experience of leading and managing people and building teams
• Well-developed analytical, oral and presentation/communication skills
• The ability to formulate commercial plans and create engagement and commitment to deliver
• Professional membership (e.g. CIOB, RICS, ICE, APM) is desirable
