SAP S/4HANA Controlling Lead / Architect – Contract Opportunity
I’m currently hiring for a Senior SAP S/4HANA Controlling Lead Consultant / Architect to join a major transformation programme.
Location: Slough (hybrid, 3 days onsite)
Contract: 6 months initial
IR35: Outside IR35
The Role
This is a senior, design-led role where you’ll take ownership of solution architecture across advanced finance areas, including Revenue Accounting, Lease Accounting, and SD–FI integration.
You’ll work closely with senior finance stakeholders to shape and deliver a high-impact S/4HANA finance solution.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead solution design across Managerial Accounting and Controlling
- Define cost allocation models and finance structures
- Design and implement Revenue Recognition processes using SAP RAR
- Own Lease Accounting (IFRS 16 / ASC 842) solution design
- Identify gaps, risks, and integration dependencies
- Support SIT/UAT testing strategy and cutover planning
Scope Includes
- Managerial Accounting (Actual vs Plan, Allocations, Cost Distribution)
- SAP Revenue Accounting & Reporting (RAR)
- Fixed Assets (FI-AA)
- Lease Accounting
- SD to FI integration (billing through to revenue)
Key Skills & Experience
- Strong expertise across SAP CO (Cost Centre, Profit Centre, Product Costing, Internal Orders)
- Deep experience in Managerial Accounting (plan vs actual, allocations)
- Proven SAP RAR implementation experience
- Strong knowledge of revenue recognition (PoC, WIP, accruals)
- Understanding of IFRS 15 / ASC 606 frameworks
- Strong SD–FI integration knowledge
Ideal Profile
- 12+ years SAP Finance experience
- 4+ full lifecycle S/4HANA implementations
- Demonstrated delivery across RAR and Lease Accounting
- Strong stakeholder engagement (Finance Directors, Controllers)
- Ability to lead design and architecture discussions
Nice to Have
- SAP RE-FX
- Group Reporting or Central Finance exposure
- Experience in regulated or audit-heavy environments
