About the role
This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a new service which we are delivering across Bolton: The Mental Health Support Team (MHST).
We are looking for skilled practitioners, with mental health experience, who can provide low intensity evidenced based CBT interventions, manage risk and are passionate about young person-centred practice.
Successful candidates will play an important part in the in the delivery of high-quality service provision that promotes and improves the mental health and well-being of young people in education settings.
As part of a new team, you will be empowered to shape and build the service with further education settings in Bolton. You will help build and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues and the wider network.
Main duties of the job
The Mental Health Practitioner will be an integral part of the MHST in Bolton. You will use your clinical skills to listen to the needs of the child, young person and family to provide meaningful evidenced based interventions. You will provide support, advice and consultation to families/carers and other professionals in the life of the child/young person. You will work closely with education professionals to foster a whole school/college approach to mental well-being.

Qualifications
Essential
- CBT, EMHP, CYWP qualification
- Completion of an EMHP Supervisors Course
- Evidence of continuing professional development in the field of child and adolescent mental health
Desirable
- Completion of a CYP improving access to psychological therapies certificate.
Experience
Essential
- Experience of assessment and delivering low intensity cognitive behavioural therapy interventions. oExperience of Multi-disciplinary working within a CAMHS setting oExperience and knowledge of implementing safeguarding procedures for children and adults. oExperience in utilising and interpreting routine outcome measures in practice. oExperience of peer supervision, supervising colleagues in the multi-disciplinary team and consultation in other agency settings.

- oExperience of supporting young people in an educational setting

- oUnderstanding of child and adolescent development. oKnowledge of risk assessment and safety planning. oKnowledge of legislation related to children and/or adolescent's mental health and social care e.g. Mental Health Act, Child Protection and Safeguarding of Vulnerable Children etc oUnderstanding and knowledge of psychological models of brief intervention.

- oAbility to teach and train others using multi-media materials suitable for presentation within public. oLevel of knowledge of research methodology and data analysis as practiced within the clinical fields of child and adolescent mental health.
