As part of the National Community Diagnostics programme the Nightingale Hospital Exeter is proud to be opening a brand-new outpatient setting. Pathways from across a diverse range of specialities will be providing new 1 stop clinics with the aim of improving the overall experience for patients whilst delivering efficient safe clinical pathways. There will also be an expansion of our centre in line with the Community Diagnostic Hub programme, to provide respiratory, cardiology, ultrasound, and phlebotomy services.

Every day, you will make a huge difference to the lives of the people we care for, delivering a high standard of care alongside your colleagues. Providing personal care, promoting nutritional needs, and assisting in the recovery and recuperation of patients on their journey to better health are just some aspects of this essential role.

The role of the Outpatient Senior Healthcare Support Worker (SHSW) is to support to the day to day running of the speciality clinics. Working alongside the Registered Nurses the successful applicant will support patients through their appointments, be a chaperone where required, whilst also undertaking required Point of Care Testing (POCT). The SHSW role is an essential member of the Buttercup core team as they will be facilitating a wide range of speciality clinicians to deliver safe, efficient care.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an innovative site and service; it will require someone who is adaptable to change and able to comprehend the detail for a variety of clinical pathways. You will be a valued member of the team through our comprehensive training and induction programme and our commitment to learning and development will satisfy even the most ambitious person.

You will be working as part of the Core Buttercup team supporting the Registered Nurses in the safe, effective running of the department.
