The role: Own process engineering of Rivan’s DAC system
The role encompasses the full development cycle, but can be tailored to the specialist skillset of the applicant. We need you to:
- Ideate novel architectures and system integrations for a solid phase, cyclic lime-based DAC process
- Run bench-scale testing and analysis of calcination, hydration, carbonation and sorbent cyclic stability
- Own detailed design and optimisation of unit operations across the full CaCO₃ -> CaO -> Ca(OH)₂ -> CaCO₃ loop
- Tightly integrate the DAC module with our methanation and electrolysis units
- Design intelligent, inherently safe, high-temperature, steam-rich, solids-handling systems
- Specification and procurement of equipment
- Own the assembly, integration, site commissioning and testing of our system
Essential skills:
- 5+ years of professional experience.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience designing and building plants with solid-handling
- Experience with high-temperature processes such as calcination, pyrolysis, reforming, roasting or thermal treatment.
- Experience working with powders/granular materials
Additional skills:
- HAZID, HAZOP and LOPA leadership experience
- Aspen modelling experience
- CAD experience
- Chartered Engineering Status
Specifics:
- £70-100k salary depending on experience
- Significant share options as part of the early team
- In-person work at our HQ in South Bermondsey, South London – flexibility considered based on personal circumstances
