SOC 2134 is an eligible occupation, but we classified this role with low confidence (42% match). If the code is right — and Derbyshire County Council is a licensed sponsor — it should qualify, but double-check the occupation eligibility rules against the actual role.

Strategic tip: apply early

Sponsored roles fill quickly, and the ones that name a salary go quickest. If this one looks right, apply in the first few days rather than saving it for the weekend.

About the role

Help to shape the future of drug and alcohol services across Derbyshire

We are seeking a motivated and organised person to join the Substance Use Strategic Team. This is an exciting opportunity to support the development, improvement and monitoring of services that makes a real difference to people’s lives.

You will be working with a wide range of partners across health, criminal justice, the voluntary sector and local government and will play a key role in supporting the delivery of local substance use priorities and programmes.

You will be:

  • An excellent communicator with strong organisational skills and the ability to build positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Comfortable working with data and information, coordinating multiple tasks and contributing to projects that improve health outcomes and reduce inequalities
  • Professional, resilient and can manage sensitive and potentially distressing information appropriately

This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills within a supportive Public Health team while contributing to work that has a direct impact on individuals, families and communities across Derbyshire.

In return for your commitment, we offer you:

  • 25 days of annual leave plus another 5 once you reach 5 years of continuous service, plus 8 bank holidays
  • Good work/life balance including Flexi time, allowing up to an additional 2 days of leave per month
  • Training and development opportunities
  • Mentoring
  • A supportive team environment
  • Generous local government pension scheme

  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Discounts at selected county leisure centres
  • and much more!

If you’re passionate about improving lives through partnership working and service development, we’d love to hear from you.

About sponsorship for this role

Does this job guarantee visa sponsorship?

Not necessarily. Derbyshire County Council holds a sponsor licence, but sponsorship for a specific hire is always the employer's decision. Be upfront in your application that you'll require it.

What salary is needed for this role to be eligible?

The offer must clear both the general threshold and the SOC 2134 going rate of £54,700. New-entrant and shortage discounts can lower it.
