Location: UK, with two days per week typically spent at the Company’s HQ in Wakefield, one additional day per week in London, or on site (UK-wide). 

Type: Full-time, permanent and fixed contract positions considered.

Commercial transport is one of the hardest parts of the energy transition challenge. It’s complex, fragmented, and moving fast, and the infrastructure to support it barely exists yet. That’s exactly why we’re building it at Aegis Energy.

Aegis Energy is developing a network of 50+ clean energy hubs across the UK, providing truck and van fleets with genuine, practical access to electric charging, hydrogen, HVO, and bio-CNG. We’re not waiting for the transition to happen. We focus on meeting the demands of the commercial vehicle sector.

About the role:

We are seeking a proactive and commercially minded Site Acquisition Manager to join our growing Site Acquisition Team at Aegis Energy. This role will be instrumental in supporting the delivery of our national infrastructure programme, with a focus on the rollout of commercial EV and clean transport sites. 

Reporting directly to the Head of Land, the Site Acquisition Manager will take ownership of end-to-end acquisition activity across assigned regions or workstreams. This includes identifying and evaluating new site opportunities, managing early-stage negotiations, coordinating due diligence, and preparing investment materials. The role requires both analytical rigour and strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to move confidently between data analysis, stakeholder engagement, and project coordination. 

Operating within a flat, entrepreneurial structure, the Site Acquisition Manager will join the Site Acquisition Team and liaise with cross-functional teams to secure high-impact sites that align with Aegis Energy’s strategic and commercial objectives. 

Some examples of initiatives that you’ll be working on:

• Lead the sourcing, evaluation, and acquisition of strategic sites for commercial vehicle (CV) clean energy refuelling infrastructure across the UK, in line with the direction and priorities set by the Head of Land. 
• Manage end-to-end acquisition processes for high-value or complex sites, including site identification, commercial negotiations, legal coordination, and investment approvals. 
• Project manage the site acquisition process, including liaising with internal stakeholders and teams (development, technical, planning, legal) through to the RIBA 2 stage. 
• Liaise regularly with agents, contractors, and developers to progress site opportunities; attend meetings and frequent site visits to support negotiations. 
• Prepare and present high-quality internal review (IR) and investment committee (IC) submissions, ensuring robust commercial assumptions, financial modelling, and risk analysis. 
• Work closely with technical teams to evaluate and factor in Point of Connection (POC) requirements and grid feasibility as part of site selection and deal structuring.  
• Collaborate with internal development, planning, legal, and finance teams to ensure sites progress smoothly through the acquisition lifecycle to pre-development handover. 
• Support easement negotiations, particularly for access and utility rights, coordinating with legal and grid consultants to secure viable infrastructure delivery. 
• Contract Support & Term Sheet Review: Assist with commercial negotiations and draft reviews of heads of terms, purchase contracts, and option agreements, working closely with the legal team. 

You’ll thrive here if:

• A full, clean UK driving licence is required, as frequent travel and site visits form part of the role. 
• A degree in Real Estate, Planning, Geography, Finance, or a related commercial or technical discipline for most applicants will be required.  
• MRICS or individuals on the APC pathway are desired. 
• Candidates should have 4+ years of relevant experience in site acquisition, development, or land transactions. Ideally, this experience is within commercial real estate, logistics, energy, or infrastructure sectors. Experience gained at a property developer, consultancy, or agency is highly desirable. 
• Proven track record in identifying, appraising, and leading negotiations for Heads of Terms, Purchase Contracts, and easements. Familiarity with grid connection (Point of Connection) issues and infrastructure coordination is strongly preferred. 
• Strong analytical and financial skills, including the ability to interrogate Excel-based financial models.  
• Working knowledge of geospatial, mapping, and PropTech tools (e.g. GIS, Google Earth Pro, Nimbus) and experience interpreting planning policy and land constraints is beneficial. 
• Applicants must have the right to work in the UK at the time of appointment. 

Desirable Previous Experience:

• Experience working at a commercial property agency (e.g., Savills, JLL, CBRE, Knight Frank) with exposure to industrial, logistics, or infrastructure sites. 
• Experience in planning or exposure to the planning process is strongly encouraged to ensure an end-to-end understanding of site delivery from acquisition through to development.
