About The Role
Due to continued growth across our rail infrastructure portfolio, we are seeking an experienced Construction CRE (Civils) to join our North West & Central team.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering a diverse programme of rail civil engineering projects throughout CP7, including bridge and structures works, station and property refurbishments, earthworks packages, signal box refurbishments and demolitions, and major framework opportunities across the region. The role will support the successful delivery of projects within our expanding Network Rail and transport authority programmes.

As the Construction CRE, you will provide engineering leadership and technical assurance across multiple projects, ensuring compliance with Network Rail standards while delivering safe, efficient and innovative engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake the role of Contractor's Responsible Engineer (CRE-C) in accordance with Network Rail standards.
- Ensure engineering and construction activities are carried out safely and in compliance with technical and regulatory requirements.
- Lead engineering assurance throughout construction delivery.
- Manage design interfaces and coordinate design development with project teams and external designers.
- Ensure the assurance process is implemented in accordance with Network Rail procedures.
- Review construction methodologies, temporary works proposals and engineering submissions.
- Oversee project delivery against programme, budget and quality requirements.
- Identify and manage technical risks, opportunities and constructability issues.
- Support commercial and operational teams in managing change, risk and project performance.
- Maintain effective relationships with clients, designers, subcontractors and other key stakeholders.
- Provide regular progress reporting to the Contractors Engineering Manager and project leadership teams.
- Promote best practice, continuous improvement and innovation across civils delivery activities.
About You
We are looking for an experienced rail civil engineering professional who can demonstrate:
- Previous experience undertaking CRE-C responsibilities on rail infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of Network Rail standards and assurance processes.
- Experience within civils and structural engineering projects including:
- Bridges
- Earthworks
- Stations and property assets
- Tunnels
- General rail civils infrastructure
- Proven experience managing design and construction interfaces.
- Strong planning, organisational and leadership skills.
- Ability to challenge designs, identify risks and develop practical engineering solutions.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Commitment to delivering the highest standards of safety, quality and performance.

Qualifications & Certification
- Degree, HNC or HND in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline
- Current approved CRE-C (Construction)
- Personal Track Safety (PTS)
