SOC 1139 (75% match) is an eligible occupation, with a going rate of £74,700, and GWI is a licensed sponsor. That is our reading of the rules. Whether they issue a Certificate of Sponsorship is still their call.
This could also be SOC 1132 (Marketing, sales and advertising directors, Marketing/sales director role in market research context) or SOC 2161 (Research and development (r&d) managers, Insights manager focus on analysis and data storytelling). We read the code off the advert, so it is our best guess, not the employer's.

At GWI we’re always looking for extraordinary people who thrive on making an extraordinary impact. Right now we’re looking for a Director to oversee the Insight Services team based across our London, New York and Athens offices. If that’s you, and making a difference gets you out of bed in the morning, keep reading. It could be the start of something, well, extraordinary.
As our Director of Insight Services:
You will be responsible for the insight function at GWI, leading four verticalised teams who are focused on uncovering data-driven narratives that shape how brands understand and engage their audiences. This team works across large-scale reporting projects, transforming GWI’s rich datasets into compelling insights, reports, and presentations that surface the unexpected and sharpen client strategy.
You’ll also partner closely with Revenue teams, contributing to RFPs, client relationships and proposals to support a strong pipeline of new opportunities.
A few things you’ll be responsible for:
It’s also fun; shaking things up is what working for GWI is all about. You’ll need to be flexible, comfortable with continuous change, and working in a high-tempo environment.
You’ll need to be able to demonstrate the core skills this role requires. Here’s what the team will be looking for in you:
👉 Proven experience managing projects and client relationships, and working closely with client-facing teams.
👉 A talent for data storytelling - translating numbers into narratives, and surfacing insights that challenge assumptions or reveal something new.
👉 Experience developing, shaping, and delivering on strategic objectives — from setting the direction to executing it.
👉 Experience managing budgets and cost bases, with a commercial eye for margin and resourcing efficiency
👉 Exceptional attention to detail and a flair for writing clear, engaging content.
👉 Comfortable running presentations and meetings.
👉 Willingness to represent GWI and its research in front of clients.
👉 Experience at team and line management.
👉 Excellent organization, time management, and collaboration skills.
👉 An ability to adapt quickly to changing business requirements, requests, and commercial team needs.
At GWI, you’ll find meaningful work, visible impact, and a culture that empowers you to do your best. Our package includes:
Put all that together and GWI is the friendliest, most fulfilling place any of us has ever worked.
Diversity is fundamental to who we are—as a data company and as a workplace. Our data reflects global realities, and so must our teams. We strive to build a workforce as diverse and inclusive as the insights we deliver.
As a Disability Confident employer, we welcome applications from disabled candidates and are committed to making adjustments throughout the hiring process—whether that's extra time, materials in advance or a different format, breaks, an adjusted interview format, assistive tools, or flexible scheduling. We're happy to discuss whatever would work best for you.
We actively encourage applications from underrepresented and marginalised communities.
At GWI, you'll find a place to contribute meaningfully, grow professionally, and belong fully.

Not necessarily. GWI holds a sponsor licence, but sponsorship for a specific hire is always the employer's decision. Be upfront in your application that you'll require it.
The offer must clear both the general threshold and the SOC 1139 going rate of £74,700. New-entrant and shortage discounts can lower it.
